SummerFest 2012

Summer is officially here! This Waitangi Weekend, people from all over will gather in New Zealand's summer capital, Mount Maunganui, to enjoy the hot sounds and cool vibes of Summerfest 2012.

Presented by Creative Tauranga and Tauranga Round Table, the inaugural home-grown music festival, showcasing the region's rich creative taonga, promises to be legendary.

Summerfest is for everyone, and everyone will be there! Created to be a family friendly/no alcohol event, Summerfest will attract thousands – so don't be the one who misses out!

Local talent will be on show at every turn. Festival goers will enjoy a top line-up of Bay of Plenty's home-grown musicians and performing artists, with two stages and non-stop music and dance between 10am and 9pm.

Internationally-acclaimed ex local lads Stan Walker and Jeremy Redmore from Midnight Youth - Aaron Saxon - Swamp Thing - The Deeds - Nine Mile Stone - Tait Kora - Joel Shadbolt – Porina & Godsown - Enercia - RPM - Herm Dub - Lydia Hollister-Jones - Luke Thompson - Urban Dance Company - Tribe & Nation PLUS winning bands from 'Packing Heat' Battle of the Bands, kapa haka groups and more.

And, the big stages are just the beginning. There'll be something for everyone, whatever your age. For the young, and young at heart, there will be loads of carnival rides. Tantalise your taste buds from the fantastic selection of food and beverage stalls or pack up a family picnic and make a day of it! (Strictly no alcohol, bag checks will be in place.)
